Cleveland Construction, Inc. completed interiors trades work at the new Marriott Marquis Hotel and Conference Center located in Washington, D.C.
The hotel, which opened on May 1, 2014, features 1,175 rooms, a lobby with a 16-story atrium covered in GFRG shapes, and five separate retail and restaurant outlets on the ground floor. Additionally, the hotel contains more than 100,000 SF of meeting and assembly space, including a 30,000 SF Grand Ballroom, two 10,800 SF junior ballrooms, more than 53,000 SF of meeting rooms, an 18,800 SF indoor event terrace, and a 5,200 SF rooftop terrace.
Cleveland Construction’s scope of work included the installation of metal stud framing, metal panel ceilings, “3D” copper ceilings, acoustical ceilings, specialty linear wood ceilings, drywall, building insulation, Venetian plaster and miscellaneous specialty finishes. Cleveland Construction performed this scope of work exclusively within the 16-story atrium, hotel lobby, ballrooms, meeting rooms, prefunction, restaurants, kitchens, and back of house areas.
