John Berg, Cleveland Construction’s General Superintendent, successfully completed the OSHA 500 Trainer Course. This certification authorizes John to teach OSHA-approved construction safety and health standards.
Cleveland Construction, Inc., a national General Contractor headquartered in Mentor, Ohio, has a new OSHA Safety Trainer. In December 2012, General Superintendent John Berg completed the OSHA #510 Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry which is the prerequisite for the OSHA #500 Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards in the Construction Industry. Recently In November 2013, John Berg completed the required training to become designated as an OSHA Authorized Construction Trainer by successfully completing the OSHA #500 Trainer Course.
The 500 Trainer Course places special emphasis on topics required in the 10- and 30-hour programs, as well as on those that are the most hazardous, using OSHA standards as a guide. Course participants are briefed on effective instructional approaches and the effective use of visual aids and handouts.
John is now an Authorized OSHA Outreach Training Program trainer certified to teach both 10- and 30-hour Construction Outreach classes to Cleveland Construction employees, and to issue cards to participants after verifying course completion. “My position as General Field Superintendent charges me with the training, oversight, and direct supervision of all field personnel and construction projects, so I want to educate myself for the benefit of all our field managers to utilize me as a resource to ensure that everyone on our sites go home safe every night!”
John will be required to attend the OSHA #502 Update for Construction Industry Outreach Trainers at least once every four (4) years to maintain his trainer status.
