CHARLOTTE, NC (Friday April 1, 2016) - Cleveland Construction, Inc., a national General Contractor and Construction Manager, is pleased to announce the relocation of David S. Sawicki, Vice President of Construction, to lead construction operations from the firm’s Uptown Charlotte office. An 18-year Cleveland Construction employee, David has spent the past 10 years overseeing Cleveland Construction’s Downtown Cleveland operations.
David’s relocation demonstrates Cleveland Construction’s continued commitment to the Charlotte area. “My presence in the market will allow Cleveland Construction to better service our clients and form a closer bond with the community.” says David Sawicki. “We are proud to sponsor the 2016 Vision Awards and I look forward to becoming involved with other community organizations.”
Cleveland Construction, Inc.’s principals have significant roots in the Charlotte market and when all other development ceased earlier this decade, they made a bold investment to help jump start the current development boom. “We had been serving the market since the mid-1990’s and knew that Charlotte was poised for a great comeback” said James Small, Principal. “There was an opportunity to make a statement, that we were going to lead the recovery in Charlotte, so we purchased the half-complete Park Condominium Tower, repurposed it and created the award-winning Skye Condominiums, Hyatt Place Downtown and Fahrenheit mixed-use tower” James continued.
Currently, Cleveland Construction, Inc. is performing as Construction Manager for the AC Hotel Residence Inn Tower at the EpiCentre, in which David Sawicki is serving as the Project Executive. This complicated project will reach 22-stories and incorporates the existing podium from the originally planned condominium tower. This project represents Cleveland Construction, Inc.’s second high-rise in Uptown Charlotte.
