Associated Builders and Contractors presents Merit Award to Cleveland Construction

Cleveland Construction, Inc. has been awarded a 2009 Merit Award in construction by the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Northern Ohio Chapter for the construction of Classic Auto Group’s Luxury Car Campus that contains three dealerships in two separate buildings located on Route 91 at I-90 in Willoughby Hills, Ohio.

ABC’s annual “Excellence In Construction” Awards event recognizes the best projects of the year built by contractor members while generating a better community and industry awareness of the quality and craftsmanship produced by merit shop contractors and their employees.

The Luxury Car Campus project included new construction of a 44,000 square-foot Lexus dealership and a 41,000 square-foot dual-dealership for BMW and MINI Copper. The Lexus dealership is an upscale, contemporary designed pre-engineered building that features a two-story showroom, corporate offices and a 15,000 square-foot service center. The BWW/MINI dual-dealership, less than 300 feet away from Lexus features separate sales and service environments for BMW and MINI. Each dealership creates its own unique image, reflective of the automobiles sold and serviced. Cleveland Construction worked closely with subcontractors and vendors to develop a shortened construction schedule to minimize working through the harsh Northeast Ohio winter.

“We take exceptional pride in this award because it represents a lot of hard work and a true partnership with Classic Auto Group,” said Keith Ziegler, vice president of Cleveland Construction. “We were able to closely coordinate construction activities to meet the aggressive schedule, ultimately achieving top quality.”
