Cleveland Construction Promotes New VP to Oversee Cleveland Building Projects

GC/CM Firm Repositions Executives to Sustain Growth Locally, Regionally & Nationally

MENTOR, OH (May 17, 2016) – With a history of promoting from within, Cleveland Construction Inc. announced Dan Dietrich’s promotion to Vice President of Construction. In this role, Dietrich will oversee all Cleveland-area construction projects for Cleveland Construction Inc. while managing new business development.

“One of my primary goals is to preserve the great relationships we’ve built with our clients and subcontractors, and to continue providing a high level of service and success,” says Dietrich, who has 14 years of experience managing construction projects at Cleveland Construction Inc. “Since my previous experience with the company consisted of projects across the country, I look forward to immersing myself in the local market to not only maintain our existing relationships, but establish new relationships to expand our business in Cleveland.”

Dietrich has worked for Cleveland Construction Inc. since August 2002, after he earned his Bachelor of Science in construction management and architecture from Bowling Green State University. He progressed from assistant project manager to project superintendent to project manager in 2003 and, most recently, senior project manager in 2011.

With this promotion, Dietrich will replace David Sawicki as Vice President of Construction overseeing projects in Cleveland. Sawicki will retain his title as he relocates to the firm’s regional office in Charlotte, NC, to oversee projects and business development there.

“Dan (Dietrich) was the obvious choice when the company evaluated the skill sets required to take over the Cleveland market,” says Sawicki, who has been with the company full-time since 1999 (and as an intern before that). “We like to promote from within, and Dan was the natural go-to because he has successfully led big projects around the country for us. He is calm and cool under pressure.”

Building on his project management experience around the country, Dietrich’s new role in Cleveland will add business development responsibilities. As VP of Construction, Dietrich will oversee local construction projects while supporting the firm’s overall growth objectives by identifying new clients and project opportunities. He will focus on expanding work in all market sectors, including: historic renovation, retail, hospitality, adaptive reuse and renovations.

This promotion positions Cleveland Construction Inc. for growth – not only strengthening the firm’s local market presence in Cleveland, but scaling its reputation across the country through six regional offices, including Sawicki’s new home office in Charlotte.

“We are a company that can travel the country doing large-scale projects, and maintain a strong presence locally without diluting our ability to manage and succeed,” Dietrich says. “Our success is all about relationships. It comes down to the team you put in place for clients, and we have good people working for us who have our clients’ trust.”
