This new 5-story pre-fabricated cold-formed metal panel structure is over 153,000 square-feet and includes 310 studio and one-bedroom suites with fully-equipped kitchens and large work areas in each room. Other hotel amenities include a swimming pool with patio pavilion, business and fitness centers, guest laundry facilities, breakfast bar and on-post shuttle service. The hotel structure meets military base structural requirements for progressive collapse and blast impact standards. The exterior building envelope consists of gypsum board sheathing, fluid applied vapor barrier, EIFS, TPO roofing system, and blast resistant windows and storefront systems. The hotel is part of the Privatization of Army Lodging (PAL) program, a U.S. Army-led program established as a means to revitalize on-post lodging facilities for soldiers, their families and all government travelers. When completed in June of 2014, the hotel will be the largest Candlewood Suites in the world.
