As a self-insured general contractor, Cleveland Construction understands how critical jobsite safety is to the overall success of your project. In order to be self-insured, it is imperative that a solid well-defined safety program is not only developed, but also managed successfully every day. Cleveland Construction's safety program exceeds the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) requirements, providing a safe work environment for everyone on our construction sites.
On every project, Cleveland Construction’s Safety Director will ensure workers are educated and equipped with site-specific safety measures that follow the requirements of both USACE Health and Safety Regulations and OSHA Construction Industry Regulations.
As a testament to our safety performance and dedication to jobsite safety, we were awarded the first safety award ever issued by the USACE Savannah District and subsequently recognized two additional times (2007 most recently) for performing 200,000 man hours without a lost-time accident. With workforce over 2,000 tradesmen, we have maintained an average Experience Modification Rate (EMR) of 0.81 over the past five years, well below the industry average of 1.00. Our low EMR rating provides you access to reduced insurance premiums on your construction projects.
