Project Description:

This eight-story project constructed for the University of Louisville will aid in the everyday research of advanced medical technologies. With over 280,000 square-feet of laboratory space, the building is designed in flexible modules, which could be modified when the researcher using each laboratory is determined. There is also space for frequent interaction between researchers. The building is part of the health sciences center’s master plan to create the physical and intellectual capital necessary to be the centerpiece for a premiere metropolitan research university.

The building received a Gold LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification, one of the council’s highest designations. UofL’s building earned a total of 41 LEED credits, two more than the 39 credits needed to achieve a Gold rating.

Cleveland Construction performed exterior metal stud framing, exterior sheeting, plaster, interior metal stud framing, drywall, acoustical ceilings, metal ceilings, axiom trims, rough carpentry and misc. specialty finishes.
